Stelios Kyprou is a qualified Mechanical Engineer (MEng) and a graduate from Loughborough University UK in 2013, with specialization in power generation and conversion technologies. He started off his career as a Mechanical Engineer in Oman, where he was coordinating and supervising the mechanical works of the Muscat Airport Cargo and MRO facilities, for the “Design and Construction of the Cargo and Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) Facilities at Muscat International and Salalah Airports – MC 12” project.
His strong interest in smart and sustainable solutions in the energy sector, led him to partake in the Climate-KIC Program, Pioneers into Practice, where he designed the IRON-IC© battery pack for the E-Stone Batteries in the Netherlands. In September 2018, he joined the Cyprus Energy Agency as an energy expert for retrofitting, energy upgrade, and saving measures, for both the public and domestic sector via local action plans and co-funded European projects. Stelios is also involved in the strategic implementation of Energy Management Systems (international standard ISO 50001) in public organizations, as well as in RES (Renewable Energy Sources) implementation studies. Lastly, since 2023, he is coordinating the team Technical Systems & Renewable Energy Sources of the Cyprus Energy Agency.
