With this announcement, the Cyprus Energy Office informs the potential beneficiaries of the Grant Scheme for the installation of 1000 publicly accessible recharging points for electric vehicles, "Electricity with the 1000", that the deadline for submitting applications for the second phase of the Scheme is extended by 2 months , until September 30, 2024, at 12.00:XNUMX a.m.

The responsible implementing body of the "Electrokinesis with the 1000" Plan is the Department of Electromechanical Services (EMY) of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, in collaboration with the Cyprus Energy Office. The Plan is included in the Cyprus Recovery & Resilience Plan, with the policy axis of rapid transition to a green economy – sustainable transport, and its implementation is expected to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants. The available budget of the B' phase amounts to €2.500.000.

The Grant Scheme is part of the commitments of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote the use of sustainable technologies, alongside the Scheme to promote electric mobility for the purchase of vehicles with zero or low carbon dioxide emissions. The purpose of the Grant Scheme is to promote electric mobility through the development of an extensive network of electric vehicle recharging points.

Eligible places to install the chargers are parking spaces for public use, such as municipal and community parking spaces, private parking spaces (e.g. parking spaces of department stores, hotels, supermarkets, banks, private hospitals, shopping centers, etc.), gas station spaces petrol stations, recharging station areas and fake parking spaces (on street parking, or along the road surface).

Beneficiaries of the grant are natural persons, legal persons (companies, unions, institutions, federations), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), legal persons under public law, Local Government Authorities that exercise economic activity for the purpose of the Plan in question and are owners or tenants parking space for public use and operate in areas under the control of the Republic of Cyprus.

It is clarified that the beneficiaries do not include natural or legal persons who aim to install the station for private use (e.g. charging the organization's vehicle fleet).
The Scheme subsidizes up to 45% of the cost of purchasing, installing and connecting electric vehicle recharging points.
