The Municipality of Nicosia recently announced the opening of registrations for the Nicosia HUB-IN Accelerator - a two-month program aimed at supporting and developing creative and cultural businesses. The program, which is offered free of charge, is implemented in collaboration with the Center for Scientific Education, Evaluation and Development of the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Energy Office and the CYENS Center of Excellence.

Purpose of the Program:
The Nicosia HUB-IN Accelerator supports business ideas, products and services that are part of the cultural and creative business sectors, with an emphasis on preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Nicosia. The aim of the program is to develop business skills and create new opportunities for sustainable business development.

The program is aligned with the strategic objectives of the European project HUB-IN, for the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as the revitalization of the historic center of Nicosia.

The main purpose of the program is to provide guidance, mentoring and basic entrepreneurship knowledge that will empower participants to successfully develop their ideas and start-ups, maximizing their economic and social impact.

Why Creative and Cultural Enterprises?
The Cultural and Creative Industries have been recognized by the European Commission as a key pillar of the economy, employing around 8 million people and contributing significantly to Europe's added value. The Business Accelerator aims to strengthen these sectors, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of Nicosia.

Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs), according to the European Commission, include a wide variety of sub-sectors: architecture, archiving, libraries and museums, visual arts, audiovisual media (including film, television, video games and multimedia), material and intangible cultural heritage, design (including fashion design), festivals, music, literature, performing arts (including theater and dance), books and publications, radio and visual arts.

Who is it for?
The program is aimed at individuals, groups and existing businesses in the Creative and Cultural Enterprises sectors, who wish to develop their ideas, enhance their knowledge and network with other industry professionals.

What does it offer?
The program includes:
– Educational seminars on entrepreneurship, marketing, project management and human resources.
– Personalized guidance from experienced mentors.
– Networking with ecosystem professionals.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to present their ideas and apply for funding to grow their businesses.

Program Structure:
The seminars will be held weekly, from 17:30 to 21:30, at Nicosia City Hall. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a business plan, acquire financial management skills and prepare for the presentation of their business idea.
