The Cyprus Energy Agency announces a new project ADAPTO, co-funded by the Interreg Europe programme, which will focus on improving climate change adaptation strategies in six European regions: Cyprus, France, Greece, Ireland, Lithuania, and Poland. ADAPTO brings together seven partners (Bretagne Development Innovation, Regional Development Fund of North Aegean, Tipperary County Council, Technological University of the Shannon, Ypsonas Municipality, Kaunas University of Technology, and Lubelskie Voivodeship) under the coordination of the Cyprus Energy Agency, to design, develop, and implement climate adaptation policy measures/strategies at different governance levels, and through this, to boost the resilience of their territories to current and future climate change impacts.
ADAPTO aims to understand the status-quo related to adaptation in each participating territory, use interregional analysis to support identification of good practices, and build capacity among public authorities/stakeholders to cooperate for improved multi-level governance of climate adaption. To do so, ADAPTO uses a systemic approach to improve the definition of adaptation goals/targets and to assess the effectiveness of adaptation actions.
